This is a wonderful and large Oil on Canvas by James E Grace (1851- 1908). This riparian scene is in Wales and is in the original gilt frame. The Painting is signed lower right and dated (1875). James Edward Grace RBA, was a landscape painter, in both oil and watercolour and a book illustrator. He studied at the Liverpool Institute from the age of sixteen years and then at the Royal College of Art. He exhibited at Suffolk Street from 1871, at the Royal Academy from 1876 and was elected a Member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1879.
